Fix What Google
Can't See.

Technical SEO is the layer under every ranking — crawl, speed, indexing, structure. In Tampa I run the audit, fix the findings, and prove it in Search Console.

01 — The Opportunity

Where Tampa Sites Actually Break.

INDEXING

Pages Google Never Files

Most Tampa sites have dozens of pages sitting in “Discovered – currently not indexed.” No ranking can happen for a page that was never filed. This is the first thing I check and the most common thing I fix.

SPEED

Core Web Vitals on Real Phones

Mobile visitors on Tampa's cellular networks abandon slow pages before the hero loads. Vitals are a ranking factor and a conversion factor, and most builders never measure them on a phone.

STRUCTURE

Redirects, Canonicals, Duplicates

Old URLs that 404, canonicals pointing the wrong way, and near-duplicate pages splitting authority. Invisible to owners, obvious to crawlers, fixable in a week.

02 — Who You Work With

Technical Work, Done by the Person Who Audits It.

Connor Cedro, SEO consultant

Hey, I'm Connor. Technical SEO is where agencies hand you a 90-page PDF and a quote. I run the crawl, read every flag, decide which ten actually matter for your site, and fix them — then validate the fixes in Search Console so the improvement is real, not reported. I'm SEMrush-certified with an MBA from SMU Cox, based in Tampa, and I keep my own site at a 100% technical health score in Semrush as a matter of discipline. That is the standard I bring to clients. You get one person who understands both the code and why it matters for a Tampa business, month-to-month, with a free audit first.

03 — What You Get

What a Technical Engagement Covers.

CRAWL & INDEX

Full Site Crawl and Index Audit

Every URL crawled, every index status reconciled against Search Console, every orphan page and crawl trap identified and resolved.

PERFORMANCE

Core Web Vitals Remediation

LCP, INP and CLS measured on real devices, with fixes to images, scripts, fonts and layout — not a plugin that hides the problem.

STRUCTURE

Architecture, Redirects, Schema

Internal linking that makes hierarchy legible, redirect maps that preserve equity, and structured data that validates cleanly.

04 — How It Works

From Audit to Validated Fix.

1

Crawl and Diagnose

Semrush site audit plus Search Console plus a manual crawl. I reconcile the three, because each one lies in a different way.

2

Prioritize by Impact

Fifty findings become ten fixes, ranked by what unlocks rankings and revenue. Warnings that never mattered get documented and ignored on purpose.

3

Fix, Validate, Monitor

Changes shipped, then validated in Search Console and re-crawled. Health becomes a number you can watch, not a report you file.

06 — The Playbook

The Tampa Technical Playbook.

FIRST

Make the Site Crawlable

Robots, sitemaps, canonicals and internal links agree with each other. Google can only rank what it can find and file.

SECOND

Make It Fast on a Phone

Vitals measured in the field, not the lab. Image formats, script loading and fonts are where most Tampa sites lose a full second.

THIRD

Make It Legible

Schema that validates, headings that describe, URLs that mean something. Structure is how a site tells Google what it is about.

07 — In Depth

What Technical SEO Actually Includes.

Indexation is the bottleneck nobody looks at

Business owners assume that if a page exists, Google has it. Search Console tells a different story: on most sites I audit, a third or more of pages are known to Google but not indexed. Some are excluded correctly — redirects, canonicals, thin tag pages. Others are “Crawled – currently not indexed,” which is Google's polite way of saying it read the page and passed. Diagnosing which is which decides the whole strategy: the first group is housekeeping, the second is a content and internal-linking problem dressed up as a technical one.

Core Web Vitals in the field

Lab scores from a desktop tool are not what Google ranks on. Field data — real visitors on real phones over Tampa's cellular networks — is what feeds the page-experience signal, and it is routinely a full second worse than the lab. The fixes are unglamorous and effective: correctly sized images in modern formats, fonts that don't block render, scripts that load after content, and layouts that don't shift when ads or embeds arrive. I measure before and after in Search Console's Vitals report, so the improvement shows up where Google reads it.

Redirect hygiene protects equity

Every site that has been redesigned carries a graveyard of old URLs. Links from other sites still point at them; Google still remembers them. When they 404, the authority they earned evaporates. A redirect map — every old URL to its closest live equivalent, in a single hop — is the highest-return technical task on most redesigned Tampa sites, and it is almost never done. I also hunt the reverse problem: redirect chains and loops that waste crawl budget and dilute signals.

Structured data that actually validates

Schema markup tells Google what a page is: a local business, a service, a FAQ, an article. Done right, it earns richer results and cleaner entity understanding. Done wrong — the wrong property on the wrong type, a mismatched FAQ, invalid JSON — it fails silently and does nothing. I validate every block against Google's own testing tool and against Semrush's structured-data check, because I have watched a single invalid property sit on six pages of my own site until a crawl caught it.

Architecture is a ranking decision

Internal links are the only ranking signal you fully control. Which pages the navigation links to, which pages the footer links to, how service pages link to location pages and back — this is how a site tells Google what matters. Most Tampa sites bury their money pages three clicks deep behind a blog. Flattening the structure and linking deliberately is often worth more than any single piece of new content.

What technical SEO will not do

It will not rank a page with nothing on it. Technical work removes the obstacles; content and authority do the climbing. If a site is technically clean and still invisible, the honest diagnosis is that the pages don't deserve to rank yet — and I will say so rather than sell another audit. The value of technical SEO is that it makes every dollar spent on content and links actually count.

08 — Common Questions

Questions Before You Book.

What does a technical SEO audit in Tampa cost?

A standalone technical audit and fix engagement typically runs as a one-time project or folds into a $2,500/month retainer for sites with ongoing needs. The free initial audit tells you which one you need.

How is this different from the free SEO audit tools?

Tools list findings; they don't rank them or fix them. The value is judgment — knowing which of fifty warnings actually blocks rankings on your site — and validated remediation.

Do you work on WordPress sites?

Yes, and Shopify, static builds and custom platforms. The principles are the same; the fixes are platform-specific and I do them myself or brief your developer precisely.

How long does technical remediation take?

Most sites are fixed within two to four weeks. Google's re-crawl and re-evaluation typically shows in Search Console over the following four to eight weeks.

Will technical SEO alone improve my rankings?

It removes what's holding you back. Sites with real content often jump once indexing and speed are fixed. Sites without content need the content next — I'll tell you which you are.

Can you fix a site that lost traffic after a redesign?

This is the most common technical rescue: missing redirects, changed URLs, lost canonicals. A redirect map and index reconciliation usually recovers most of it.
