Mandy Drew Designs is a Tampa interior design studio entering a market where most discovery happens through Instagram, Houzz, and referrals — not search. When the engagement started, the site had a Domain Authority of 2, zero meaningful rankings, and no Google Business Profile presence.
The challenge: interior design is a high-consideration, high-value service where clients research for weeks before reaching out. Simply ranking wouldn't be enough — the SEO strategy had to build trust across multiple touchpoints and capture clients at different stages of their research process.
The Approach
Phase one covered the fundamentals: Google Business Profile setup and optimization, local citation building, and technical cleanup. Then we built a content strategy targeting the searches Tampa design clients actually make — neighborhood-specific pages ("interior designer South Tampa," "interior designer Hyde Park"), style-specific searches ("luxury interior designer Tampa," "coastal interior design Tampa Bay"), and process-focused content ("how much does an interior designer cost in Tampa").
Portfolio pages were transformed from beautiful-but-invisible image galleries into SEO assets — each project page got descriptive titles, written descriptions referencing the neighborhood, style, and materials, and properly tagged photography. This turned existing work into rankings.
Link building focused on Tampa lifestyle publications, home and design features, and local business directories. Domain Authority grew from 2 to 15 over the engagement — compounding rankings across the full keyword portfolio.
The Results
Mandy Drew Designs now receives 500+ monthly visitors from organic search — a channel that was essentially nonexistent when we started. The 200+ ranking keywords include high-intent local searches that drive consultation requests from Tampa clients who are actively looking to hire a designer.
